You have a chore, a task to complete. It's beneath you. You're tired and have no desire to complete it. You don't know where to start, then try Wu Wei, a Tao and Chinese concept and do nothing about it, just sit around picking your nose, maybe have a beer and do nothing. Watch and see what transpires. You may be surprised.
In Taoism the literal meaning of Wu Wei is 'without action', without effort and without control. Surprisingly Wu Wei has moved mountains. Look at all the silent peaceful protests and marches, the sit-ins, John and Yoko's 'Bed-In'. They did nothing but stayed in bed. But it changed lives, eh?
Wu Wei may seem like a silly thing to do, but it works. I do it all the time. Mind you I never get anything done.
