The Drake Equation - It's Not An Exact Science But Will Have To Do For Now.

The Drake Equation:  N= the number of civilizations in the Milky Way Galaxy whose electomagnetic are detectable or put in layman's terms, the odd's in finding life in the universe.

N = R* • fp • ne • fl • fi • fc • L

N is for the number of civilizations in the Milky Way Galaxy whose electomagnetic emissions can be detected.

R* is the rate of formation of stars suitable for the development of intelligent life.

fp is the fraction of those stars with planetary systems.

nis the number of planets per solar system with an environment for life.

fl is the fraction of suitable planets on which life actually appears.

fi  is the fraction of life bearing planets on which intelligent life emerges.

fc is the fraction of civilizations that develop a technology that releases detectable signs of their existence into space.

L is the length of time such civilizations release detectable signs of their existence into space.

It all boils down to any calculations of the Drake Equation remains a rough estimate. It's not an exact science but will have to do for now.

But, there's one thing we know for sure and we don't need the Drake Equation to figure it out either, and that is; there's a planet in the Milky Way that does emit detectable signs of life out into space and it does show life and signs of their existence, it's called Earth.
