Are you a non-believer? Was it possible back in the 60's and 70's for man to safely travel to the moon and return? It had only been about a hundred years since the Wright Brothers flew the Kitty Hawk, which many people believed at the time could not possibly have happened, either.
A lot of people believe the first moon landing (Apollo 11) was a hoax, designed by the Americans to make the world believe they were more superior than the Soviets, after all the Russians (the REDS) and the Americans were in the midst of a Cold War. President Richard Nixon "Tricky Dick" was the president, a proven liar. The Viet Nam War was in full swing. Tension was high, there was a constant threat of a nuclear war, race riots, the assassinations of Kennedy and King, the drug revolution and I have to throw it in, Disco. Russia at the time was number 1, with the first orbital satellite (Sputnik), the first monkey then man in space, etc.
What makes it all a big hoax to the non-believers? Are the astronauts Armstrong and Young liars, like Nixon and can't be trusted. There were no stars in the background of the film. There was no crater formed under the Lunar Module when it landed. The flag of the United States was waving as if blown by a fan.
First of all, thousands of people worked on the space program not just Armstrong and Young. You would think after time, someone would have leaked out at least a hint of a tidbit of the hoax, spilling the beans as they say, but no. Apollo missions, 11,12,14,15,16, and 17 have all landed on the moon. That's a lot of people involved and not one leak, hard to believe.
The flag was held out by a metal rod. There is no wind on the moon. As the astronauts drove the stake in the ground it made the flag vibrate, which made it swing and twist around, resembling being blown in the wind.
The crater not being formed as the Lunar Module landed can be explained by the gentle landing. They slowed the Module almost to a snail's pace before it touched down. The Module was in focus, the background or the stars were out of focus, so you could not see them.
Still, there will always be the nay-sayers.
Consider these facts, 47% of Americans don't even know how long it takes for the Earth to revolve around the Sun, worse yet, 18% of Americans don't know that the Earth revolves around the Sun. It's true! Look it up, I was shocked.
