A Soldier Remembers - Turned Away From the Legion for Wearing Turban

There is a new book launch...  "A Soldier Remembers"  a memoir of a second war veteran Lt. Col. Pritam Singh Jauhal a Sikh.

A man fights for Canada and is decorated as a World War II veteran.

What makes this story interesting is;  he was denied entrance on Rememberance Day back in 1993, to the Surrey Newton Legion Branch because he was wearing his turban, that's why the book was written in the first place.

It's being launched here in Newton (Surrey) because that was where the incident took place.

Launching takes place at the Newton Library  13795-70 Ave and is presented by the Centre for Indo-Canadian Studies at the University of the Fraser Valley.
