God's Little Acre Farm, needs farm hands.

Jas Singh put the call out to the local public.  Help!

Volunteers needed to pick veggies!

For the poor.

God's Little Acre Farm
Surrey B.C.
Tons and tons of squash (4 varieties), potatoes, peas, green beans, broccoli, bok choy, corn, field cucumbers, zucchini, and a host of other vegetables would go to waste if not picked right away.

The public responded.

580 people came to the farm on Saturday, Aug 19/13 to help harvest the crop. They received 790 telephone calls, 468 e-mails and 118 text messages. To date the little farm claims a huge success, with the donation of over 100,000 lbs of fresh produce to needy organizations (food banks) around the lower mainland.

God's Little Acre Farm started by Jas Singh in 2011, yielded 62,000 lbs. of potatoes for the needy at the Surrey Food Bank in the first year. Surprising everyone!  Now in 2013, three years later a self-sustaining charity model farm built on supporting the poor.

They initiate new programs for Kids. "Kids Growing Pumpkins," targeting to grow 20,000 lbs of pumpkins to give away. How good is that?

Check out their website God's Little Acre Farm.

Two thumbs up for Jas Singh.
